Following the recent launch of the Motorola One Macro, the company seems to be gearing up for its next device. Earlier this year, a reliable source revealed key specifications of the upcoming device, which we believe will be called the Moto G8 or Moto G8 Plus. As per the source, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 665 chip and will feature a triple camera setup. We also learned that the device packs in a 6.3-inch FHD+ display and will be made available in three RAM/storage variants. Now, leaked renders and specifications of the device have confirmed some of these details.
As reported by WinFuture, the upcoming Moto G8 Plus (XT2019) will feature a triple camera setup on the back with a 48MP primary sensor. The device has a 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 2280×1080 resolution and a teardrop notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. This confirms that the notchless design we saw earlier isn’t the Moto G8 Plus. The leak also confirms that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 665 chip, with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the device will also include a microSD card slot for further expansion.

Speaking of the cameras, the leaks suggest that the device will house a 48MP primary sensor, coupled with a 16MP ultra-wide shooter with a 117 degree field of view. However, this 16MP shooter has been marked as an “action cam”, like the one we recently saw on the Motorola One Action. Finally, there’s a 5MP sensor for depth perception and a laser autofocus module. Up on the front, the device houses a single 25MP selfie shooter, which should deliver good images.

The leak also highlights that the Moto G8 Plus will feature a 4,000mAh battery with quick charge support using the Turbo Power adapter. In terms of I/O, the device features a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additional details include dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC. However, the NFC variant may not be launched in all regions. The device is expected to run Android Pie out of the box and is expected to be unveiled on October 24 at an event in Brazil. As of now, there’s no information on the pricing and availability.
