Honor 20 Pro officially launches globally on August 2nd

The Honor 20 Pro was announced almost immediately after the U.S. trade ban news dropped. Obviously, this wasn’t great timing, but Honor has remained positive that the device will launch. Back in June, it was added to the list of Google Play Certified Devices, which was a good sign. Today, the company announced the global launch of the Honor 20 Pro.

Russia will be the first market to officially launch the Honor 20 Pro. It will go on sale starting August 2nd for 34990 RUB ($554). Following closely behind, the phone will launch in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Malaysia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and other markets.

We’ve been putting the device to the test while we wait for launch. Recently, we compared the low-light photography to the Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 7 Pro (in addition to general camera performance). We’ve also tested its gaming capabilities with GPU Turbo 3.0 and published a full review. The device launched with Android Pie, but Honor has already said it will get Android Q.

The headlining features of the Honor 20 Pro include the Kirin 980 SoC, triple rear cameras (which have been highly rated), a big 4,000mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 6.26-inch display. If your region is getting the phone, it’s definitely one of the best high-end options out there.

Note: Huawei/Honor has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloaders can’t be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
