Moto X4’s stable Android Pie update rolling out in Brazil

The Moto X4 was announced in August of 2017 and launched later that Fall. Lenovo eventually released an Android One variant of the device, but in this article, we’re talking about the standard model. Earlier this month, Moto X4 beta testers started receiving an Android Pie soak test. Now, the stable update is rolling out in Brazil, as seen in the screenshots below.

The screenshots above were shared in the Brazilian Moto X4 Facebook group. They show the official OTA update screen that users see when the Android Pie update is available. The text is in Portuguese, but it says the update is version PPW29.69-26 and it includes the latest November security patches. Android Pie brings the usual goodies, including App Actions and Slices, Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, and more.

This update comes towards the end of Lenovo’s promised update window. They said the Moto X4 would receive Android Pie “starting this Fall.” The soak test did indeed start this Fall and they got the stable update out with about a month to spare. Lenovo launched the Moto X4 with Android 7.1 Nougat, so it’s nice to see the device receive two major Android version updates. We’ll be following this update as it arrives in more countries.
