With the Pixel 3, Google took some big steps towards making the devices available in more places. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were available from three of the major US carriers: Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. According to a leaked internal email, the Pixel 4 could cross the AT&T off the list as well.
The message below is allegedly an internal email meant for AT&T employees:
The email states that AT&T has the ability to send a Pixel 4 to one employee (RSC = retail sales associate). The phone must be used as their company-owned unit. The email also mentions that “Apple Masters” and “Samsung Pros” can’t be given the device, which makes sense since they are supposed to be focused on those platforms. Whoever receives the Pixel 4 will be responsible for “merchandising the device.”
This is a lot of internal mumbo jumbo that equates to the Pixel 4 series being available directly from AT&T. Assuming Google maintains the carriers from the Pixel 3 launch, the Pixel 4 should be available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Google Fi, Visible, and others.

Carrier stores are still popular places for a lot of people to buy new phones. It’s important for a phone’s success to not only be available in brick and mortar shops but also for sales associates to be familiar with the device. Having one person in every AT&T store dedicated to the Pixel 4 will help push sales.
