The sub-₹10,000 market in India is dominated by the likes of Xiaomi with its Redmi, Redmi A and Redmi Note series, capturing several price points and covering various needs through different combinations of specifications. Historically, this has been one of the most competitive price segments in the country, seeing the likes of Indian as well as foreign smartphone companies trying to lure customers with value offerings. Vivo is working towards the same, now launching at the Vivo U10 with decent specifications in this highly competitive segment.

The main focus of the Vivo U10 is to expand vivo’s portfolio in India with a value offering for users looking to jump in with a triple rear camera setup on a tighter budget. The Vivo U10 makes generous use of polycarbonate to keep both its price and its weight low. Opting for a different material would have added significant weight to this 5,000 mAh battery device, so the decision to opt for polycarbonate is quite practical.
The Vivo U10 comes with a now-standard design pattern, complete with a waterdrop notch. There are thin bezels on the sides and the top, but the bottom does see a noticeable chin underneath the 6.35″ HD+ display. The reflective back panel houses the triple rear camera, the LED flash, and the rear fingerprint sensor, along with the vivo branding at the bottom. For ports, the Vivo U10 comes with a microUSB port, but hey, you still get a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the inside, the Vivo U10 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, with options of 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage. The device is also capable of 18W fast charging with the included charger, which should complement the 5000 mAh battery very well.
One of the highlights of the Vivo U10 is the triple rear camera setup (comprising of a primary camera, a wide-angle camera and a depth sensor), which is a relative rarity in this price range. Selfie duties are handled by the 8MP camera sitting within the waterdrop notch.
