Google Pixel 4 leaked pics reveal 8X Zoom, 6GB RAM, and white color

The Google Pixel 4 may not have leaked as much as last year’s Google Pixel 3, but we’ve still seen plenty of images, videos, and code references for the late 2019 Pixels. For example, just this past week we saw brief hands-on videos showing off what’s presumably the XL model from every angle—in both black and white colors, too! We also found corroborating evidence that the Pixel 4 series will feature smooth, 90Hz displays. The latest leak corroborates and expands upon details we already knew about: the 2019 Pixel’s zoom capability and upgraded RAM.

Thanks to (now deleted) images shared by one user on Weibo (some of which were mirrored by CNMO), we get to see the Pixel 4 in all its notchless beauty. The image to the left (below) I believe shows the smaller non-XL model in black with the white-colored power button. Once again, we can see the large top bezel which houses the sensors for Face Unlock, Motion Sense gestures, and the front-facing camera. The same wallpaper that showed up in our earlier leak of the Sprint model also appears here, and we can clearly see that the device is running Android 10 thanks to the Assistant hints in the bottom corners. The device is running beta software as you can see the dogfood logo in the Google Camera app icon.

The image to the right (below) I believe shows the larger XL model in white with the orange-colored power button. We get to see the dual rear cameras which we expect consists of a 12MP primary camera and a 16MP telephoto camera. The image shows the device without the Pixel’s iconic dual-tone finish, which is something we also saw with the Sprint leak.

More importantly, however, are two pictures corroborating features that were previously rumored. While the Google Camera app hinted at the Pixel 4 having a telephoto camera, we didn’t know any details about how far it can zoom. One photo (left, below) shows the Google Camera app zooming in to 8X magnification, though we don’t know if that’s fully lossless zoom. Google will likely combine optical zoom from the telephoto lens with the company’s own Super Res Zoom technique to produce sharper images at higher magnifications.

This image also gives us a better view of the new Google Camera UI that can briefly be seen in the video leaked the other day. We can see that the shutter button, camera toggle, and gallery preview buttons are now located above the camera modes. We can also see that the zoom slider actually tells you the current magnification level.

Lastly, the image to the right (below) shows the device running a device information app that reveals a 6GB RAM model. This particular image was shared privately with our anonymous tipster who spoke with the Weibo user and then informed us about this recent leak, and we haven’t seen this image shared anywhere publicly yet. While the source itself isn’t conclusive, the other images they shared are convincing enough.

We’ll be scouring the web for more news on the late 2019 Pixel smartphones. Both devices are rumored to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 6GB RAM, 90Hz OLED displays, and the same cameras. The smaller non-XL model is expected to have a 5.7-inch 1080p screen and a 2800mAh battery, while the larger XL model is expected to have a 6.3-inch 1440p screen and a 3700mAh battery.
