The OnePlus 7 Pro is OnePlus’ first smartphone to truly compete with premium-tier smartphones not only in terms of specifications and features but also in terms of pricing. Although there was a lot to love about the device when it first launched, there were also a few pain points. Ghost touches and poor camera performance were two of the biggest issues that have been addressed in post-release OxygenOS updates, but there’s still room for improvement. The latest OxygenOS 9.5.9 update rolling out today brings a lot of system and camera optimizations.
According to OnePlus, the update brings the June 2019 security patches, “smoother visual effects,” better touch sensitivity, better automatic brightness adjustments, improved camera auto-focus, and much more. The full changelog has been reproduced below.
The update has begun rolling out in India and the United States, but thanks to XDA Member Some_Random_Username we can again share the incremental and full OTA firmware files. If your device is unmodified and is running OxygenOS version 9.5.8, you can sideload the incremental OTA in the System Update app. If you’ve unlocked the bootloader and rooted your phone, then you’ll need to sideload the full OTA firmware file.
OxygenOS 9.5.8 –> OxygenOS 9.5.9 OTA
The 5G and T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro models run slightly different builds of OxygenOS, but in the case of the latter, it’s possible to run the international firmware after converting. If you haven’t converted your T-Mobile model or you have the 5G model, then you’ll have to wait for the equivalent OxygenOS update to roll out for your device.
