OnePlus’s software releases are bifurcated into two public branches — open beta releases for testing out new updates with a wider community, and the main stable branch. This allows the company to effectively soak test an update before rolling it out to the public. The company had been testing the Screen Recorder feature for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in the open beta channel, and now, the latest stable release of OxygenOS finally brings this feature to all users of the device.

The highlight of the update is the rollout of the screen recorder functionality, as well as June 2019’s Android Security Patches. The complete changelog for OxygenOS 9.0.7/9.0.15 for the OnePlus 6/6T is as below:
- System
- Updated Android security patch to 2019.6
- Improved screen rotation
- Added Screen recorder feature (Quick Settings – Screen Recorder)
- Communication
- Support VoLTE/VoWiFi for Telia Denmark
The screen recorder in this update can be accessed through the Quick Settings panel, so don’t go hunting for a separate app in your app drawer. The changelog does not mention if the feature comes with the FPS options as were introduced in a recent beta. Also missing from the stable update channel is Zen Mode, which was another feature that was introduced along with the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The update is rolling out incrementally to all devices over the next few days. If you want, you can sideload the update on your device by either flashing the small, incremental OTA zip on the previous version (if you have an unmodified boot image), or by flashing the full ROM.
OxygenOS 9.0.7 for the OnePlus 6:
Incremental OTA (OOS 9.0.6 to OOS 9.0.7) | Full ROM
OxygenOS 9.0.15 for the OnePlus 6T:
Incremental OTA (OOS 9.0.14 to OOS 9.0.15) | Full ROM
