It’s been a while since the Sony Xperia 1 was announced (it’s still not for sale in the US), but we finally got our hands on this flagship device. XDA TV’s Daniel Marchena recently shared his unboxing and first impressions of this device. It has a lot of the typical Sony features, but there are a few “firsts” as well.
One of the big standout features of the Xperia 1 is the display. This is the first phone to feature a 4K OLED panel and it comes in the same super tall 21:9 aspect ratio that we saw on the Xperia 10 series. Sony is also doing triple rear cameras this time with a standard, wide-angle, and telephoto (all 12MP).
That’s the main story with the Xperia 1: display and cameras. The phone doesn’t utilize the full 4K resolution when you’re navigating the UI, but it will automatically switch to 4K when playing videos and other content. It looks great and the cameras seem really good too. Daniel will have more about this device coming soon, so stay tuned.
