Realme 1, 2 Pro, and U1 will get the Realme 3 Pro’s HyperBoost feature with ColorOS 6

Ever since it branched out of OPPO, Realme has scooped a good share of the highly competitive markets like India. This success can be attributed to the company’s efforts to supporting unofficial development as well as bringing new features to older devices. After ensuring that all of the existing devices will get the Android Pie update, the company has announced that users will also be able to enjoy enhanced gaming on their Realme devices through the HyperBoost 2.0 feature.

Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth recently promised that HyperBoost 2.0 will be available on the Realme 1, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme U1 with the ColorOS 6 (based on Android 9.0 Pie) update which comes later this year. Meanwhile, the Realme 2 and C1 are still “being considered” even though there’s no guarantee that these devices will receive the update too.

HyperBoost 2.o is a feature which caters to the young users, offering powerful performance and an unyielding battery. It has been borrowed from OPPO and ensures consistently reliable gaming performance with optimal consumption of the battery.

Currently limited to the Realme 3 and the Realme 3 Pro, HyperBoost comprises Touch Boost and Frame Boost which enhance the touch response and ensure consistency of frame rates, respectively. Apart from ensuring a lag-free gaming experience, HyperBoost also allows combining mobile data and Wi-Fi networks for lower latency during online games and also hides unnecessary notifications.

The benefits of HyperBoost on Realme 3 Pro, for instance, include a gaming experience similar to affordable flagships like POCO F1 – in spite of an SoC meant for mid-range smartphones (it will be interesting to see how the alleged 8GB RAM variant compares with some entry-level flagships). While the same cannot be ensured for other Realme devices with lower specifications, we can definitely expect some improvement over their current abilities.

As per the company’s update schedule, the ColorOS 6 update should start rolling out to last year’s Realme smartphones in June this year, which is when we will also get to see the HyperBoost 2.0 feature on the select devices.
