The year 2019 has signified a gigantic shift of direction for Samsung’s mobile division. While their 2018 flagships received some criticism for looking eerily similar to their predecessors, Samsung lost the fear to innovate with their 2019 smartphones: the Galaxy S10 line uses Infinity-O punch-hole displays as an alternative to notches and their new Galaxy A smartphones use teardrop notches, with the recently-announced Galaxy A80 going all out into the unique realm with a New Infinity bezel-less display and a motorized swivel pop-up camera. One UI, their latest customization skin based on Android Pie, also represents a wildly different experience from Samsung’s previous Samsung Experience skin.
After an initial roll-out which included several Samsung flagships, including the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy Note 9, the Galaxy S8, the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy Note FE/Note 7, and even included certain budget devices like the Galaxy J8, Samsung’s new One UI interface is now branching out to other devices. This includes Samsung’s flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S4, as well as the Galaxy J6, one of Samsung’s most popular budget devices from last year.

The update for both of these devices include the latest Android Pie version and all the new features included with it, as well as all of the expected UI changes included with One UI. A notable omission here is the latest April 2019 security patches, as both the Galaxy Tab S4 and the Galaxy J6 are receiving the March 2019 security patch instead.
The Android Pie update for both of these devices is now rolling out over-the-air to users in certain markets, and it may take a while before it reaches users across the globe. You always have the option to download the firmware and sideload it, but if you don’t want to mess around with Odin, your best bet is to be on the lookout for an OTA update coming soon to your device.
