News of a mid-range Pixel has been popping up on the internet for nearly a year now. We got our first look at the “Pixel 3 Lite,” as it was then known, in late 2018. Earlier this month we finally learned the real name of these two devices: Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a Lite. A new report gives us more info about the colors that will be available, storage options, and rumblings about pricing.
The report from WinFuture states that there will be three color options for the Pixel 3a devices. Black and white will be present, as we’ve seen in photos and renders. The third color is being called “Iris,” which sounds like it will be a purple/blue-ish color. The flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have a third color that is a very light shade of pink. “Iris” could be a similar pastel color.
WinFuture also cites European online retailers in claiming the devices will have 64GB of internal storage, which differs from previous reports of 32GB. The dealers also indicate that the devices will not be cheap, though an estimated price was not given. People have speculated that Google will price the mid-range Pixels too ever high since the first rumor. We’ll have to wait and see how the pricing of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL stacks up with the highly competitive mid-range segment.
As of right now, the tentative specs include a 5.6-inch OLED display on the Pixel 3a and a 6-inch display on the Pixel 3a XL. Other specs include the Snapdragon 670 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and 3,000 mAh battery on the Pixel 3a. They also have USB-C ports, headphone jacks, and Android Pie, of course.
