Samsung Galaxy Note 9’s Android Pie update starts rolling out in Germany

We’ve been tracking the Android Pie update for Samsung’s 2018 flagship phones for about a month now. The first beta updates for the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 rolled out early last month. The stable update has started rolling out to the Galaxy Note 9 in Germany, which means a wider rollout is coming soon.

The software version for this update is N960FXXU2CRLT and it comes in at just 95MB if you are already running the beta. The small size means the last beta update was basically final. The stable build includes the January security patches, which have not been publicly released yet.

Android Pie brings Samsung’s new One UI software to the Galaxy Note 9, which we have gone over in-depth. This UI is a drastic change from Samsung Experience. The update includes the usual array of Android Pie goodies, including Adaptive Battery (but not Adoptable Storage), and the latest features from Samsung. Check out our hands-on video to see One UI before installing the update.

The stable Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ started rolling out in Europe late last month. That update is still only available in a few countries, but Samsung’s roadmap says Android Pie will be available in January. We should see the stable update become available in more countries very soon.
