We haven’t seen a new Galaxy Mega device in years, but Samsung may be bringing it back with a slightly different name. Last month we reported on a device that was being referred to as the Samsung Galaxy M20. The report showed a photo of the front and the back of the device. We also got a look at the bottom with its 3.5mm headphone port, USB Type-C port, and speaker grill. We hadn’t heard anything about this phone before from any legit sources, but now some FCC listings have revealed two of these devices. From these listings, it looks as if Samsung is going to release the Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20.
This new Galaxy M series may not technically be part of the old Galaxy Mega brand, but the phones do seem big. In any case. the report we highlighted last month showed a phone with a waterdrop notch and the possibility of a huge 5,000mAh capacity battery. Sadly, the FCC listings don’t mention a battery capacity for either of these devices, but they do give us details on their display sizes, RAM options, and internal storage capacities.
As far as the Samsung Galaxy M10 is concerned, we’re looking at a smartphone with a 6.02-inch diagonal display and dimensions of 155.7 mm x 75.8 mm. The listing says the Galaxy M10 will have 3GB of RAM and could come in 16GB and 32GB internal storage options. We can see the battery model number is EB-BA750ABN (which is the same used in the Galaxy A8s, which would be would be 3,400 mAh. The Galaxy M20 is said to be slightly bigger thanks to the FCC listing with a 6.13-inch display and dimensions of 156.4 x 74.5 x 8.8 mm.
The model number of the battery of the Galaxy M20 is EB-BG580ABN, which indicates the previous report of a 5,000mAh battery to be correct. The device should be coming with 3GB of RAM as well but Samsung is bumping up the internal storage options here with the choice of either 32GB or 64GB. Both devices are said to launch (or at least have been tested for certification) with Android 8.1 Oreo.
