Poweramp is a free and incredibly popular music player available in the Play Store. With over 50 million downloads and an average of 4.4-star reviews, it has become the music player of choice for many, many people. Not everyone prefers music streaming services like Spotify, YouTube Music, Pandora, or Apple Music, so Poweramp has given people an application for local music playback that comes with a lot of features. However, it hasn’t been much of a looker in the UI department, but their version 3 beta redesign is finally stable and available in the Play Store right now.
This redesign has been in the works for the better part of the year. We initially covered it back in April and gave you an inside look at the latest beta update that had been made available. The application hadn’t seen a real update since September 2016 but its fans stuck with it thanks to the features that it offered. Now, with this latest stable update, it has finally caught up with the competition thanks to the design department, while even going above and beyond what some would consider a user interface redesign.
So not only does version 3 of Poweramp come with a new design, but it also comes with a new user interface when it comes to navigating through the application. Those who may not be interested in the redesign will still likely be excited to hear that it also received a new audio engine in this update as well. This new audio engine includes a new DSP, updated equalizer, and more.
