Back in August, the OPPO R17 and OPPO R17 Pro were officially announced. The devices were originally available in China, but now OPPO will make them available in India as well. The OPPO R17 devices were among the first with “waterdrop” notches and in-display fingerprint scanners. Many have pointed to the R17 as being the base model for the OnePlus 6T, as OnePlus is a subsidiary of OPPO.
As for the phones themselves, India will be getting the same devices we saw earlier this Summer. Despite standard and “pro” models, the two devices actually have a lot in common. They have the same display size, though aspect ratio is ever so slightly different. Both have 8GB of RAM, waterdrop notches, and in-display fingerprint scanners. Where they differ is the chipset, cameras, and battery size. Check out the specs below.

OPPO has several launch offers for the R17 Pro. You can get 10% cashback for HDFC cards or Rs. 3000 cashback for PaytmMall orders. Jio users can get up to 3.2TB additional data and benefits worth up to Rs. 4900. There is a one-time screen replacement at Rs. 990, Rs. 2000 off on exchange, and no-cost EMI available on all major credit cards and select debit cards.
The OPPO R17 Pro will be available on pre-order from Amazon.in starting today and shipping begins December 7th. Details for the standard OPPO R17 availability are still forthcoming.
