The Xiaomi POCO F1 has been one of the surprise devices of 2018. It brings flagship-level specs at a very affordable and competitive price. Many have compared it to when OnePlus splashed onto the scene with the OnePlus One. Like OnePlus devices, the POCO F1 makes sacrifices to keep the price down. One area that has not been sacrificed is software, as the device is receiving another MIUI 10 beta update.
The headlining changes in this new update are two camera features: 960fps video recording and “Super low-light” mode. A couple of months ago, we wrote about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 getting 960fps video recording. The POCO F1 is likely getting the same implementation, which is 240fps video interpolated to 960fps and played back at 30fps. This is because the camera sensor is not capable of recording true 960fps video. Super low-light mode is also likely a similar feature from the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3.

These features are only available in the latest beta version of MIUI 10 for POCO, so handle it with a little care.

This update is MIUI 10 beta 8.12.4 and it was announced on Twitter by POCO India General Manager, Manmohan Chandolu. He urges users to take care before downloading this beta. The download comes in at 1.7GB. This is a recovery ROM, so you can sideload it via the MIUI Updater in the phone settings or with TWRP if you have an unlocked bootloader.
