MIUI 10 Global beta (Android Pie) is rolling out for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi makes a lot of phones—and I mean a lot of phones. There are 5 different models in the Xiaomi Mi 8 family: the Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Pro, and Mi 8 Lite. The first 3 were launched at the same time in China while the latter 2 launched a few months later. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint scanner unlike the regular Mi 8, but it lacks the structured light 3D facial recognition module found in the Explorer Edition. The Mi 8 Pro is available in the United Kingdom with MIUI 10 Global Stable based on Android 8.1 Oreo. After receiving a MIUI 10 China Developer ROM based on Android 9 Pie, the Global Mi 8 Pro is now getting an Android Pie beta of its own.

The latest MIUI 10 Global Developer ROM (8.12.13) is now rolling out for the Mi 8 Pro, and it’s based on Android 9 Pie. You can download the full OTA file from the link below for the device code-named “equuleus_global.” Since it’s a recovery ROM, you can flash it via TWRP if you have an unlocked bootloader. Keep in mind it’s the first public beta for the Global version, so don’t be surprised if there are any bugs.
