The phablet concept has changed meanings and dimensions a lot over the years. After all, bigger phones are now the norm. What is considered a normal phablet nowadays would have been considered a gigantic monstrosity 5 years ago. Xiaomi’s latest Mi Max 3 delves into tablet territory by featuring a big, bold 6.9-inch 18:9 display. The specifications are not shabby either, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, up to 6 GB of RAM, and a massive 5,500mAh battery unit.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is running MIUI 9 out of the box, based on Android 8.1 Oreo. If you want to have a sneak peek at Android Pie on your Mi Max 3, an MIUI 10-based beta build (MIUI 8.11.26) of Android Pie is now available for your device, weighing in at 2.2 GB. This is MIUI 10 China Developer ROM, however, so if you’re expecting to use a language other than Mandarin Chinese or English, you’ll have to wait for the Global ROM release. You can download the build below and flash it via MIUI Updater in settings (if you’re on MIUI 10 China Stable ROM) or via TWRP if you’re already on a Global ROM.
