Display notches. Slim bezels. No headphone jacks. In-display fingerprint sensors. Multiple cameras. These are all big trends in smartphones right now. Foldable displays have been threatening to be “a thing” for years, but 2019 could finally be that year. According to @evleaks, LG will have one to show off at CES.
Samsung is one of the biggest names in the foldable display conversations. Earlier this month, we spotted references to their “Winner” foldable device in the Galaxy S9‘s Android Pie update. Huawei, Xiaomi, and Microsoft are also said to be working on devices. LG’s name popped up a couple of weeks ago as the display partner for a Lenovo foldable tablet. Evan Blass says they will have a foldable phone at CES in a couple of months.
I can't speak for Samsung…
…but I do know that LG plans to unveil a foldable phone at its 2019 CES keynote.

He says he can’t say anything about Samsung’s plans, but LG will unveil a foldable phone at its CES keynote. CES 2019 is coming up quickly in January. We have no specifics on the device at this time. It could very well be a dual-display “folding” phone that we’ve seen before. We’ve yet to see a real, mainstream device with an actual foldable display panel. 2019 may be the year when it happens.
