Here’s the Google Home Hub next to the Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max

Ever since the announcement of the original Google Home in 2016, the Google Home lineup of smart speakers has become increasingly popular in markets such as the US. The Google Home was joined by the affordable Google Home Mini and the high-end Google Home Max in October 2017. This year, the first smart displays were announced at CES, the Lenovo smart display being a prime example. This month, the Google Home Hub was leaked for the first time. It will be Google’s own smart display, and it will have a display size of 7-inches.

Google Home Hub along with the Google Home, Home Mini, and the Home MaxNow, another render of the Google Home Hub has been leaked by Ausdroid. This new render shows it alongside the Google Home, Home Mini, and the Home Max. We can see the Home Hub without the base unit in the render. This may imply that it can be removed from the base to use it as a tablet. However, the Home Hub will be powered by Android Things and not the full version of Android, so it won’t offer as much utility as a traditional Android tablet. As a smart home hub it can offer its own range of functionality as the Google Assistant is now compatible with 5,000 devices.

The render does not show a front-facing camera on the Google Home Hub just like the previous render. Smart displays from the likes of JBL, LG, and Lenovo have cameras for video calling.

The Google Home Hub will be announced on October 9 alongside the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. According to the previous leak, it will be priced at $149 in the US. The question of international availability will have to wait until the launch event to be answered.
