Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL leaked press renders show off official cases

Pixel 3 XL

This will come as no surprise to anyone who has been following the Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3, but we have another leak. We’ve already seen the retail packagingmultiple colorssample photos, and hands-on video. The devices have also shown up in official-looking renders already, but now we have a couple more to look at. These renders reveal a couple of tidbits of information.

To start, this is the first time we’ve seen the official Google Fabric cases that will be available for the Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3. The cases in the photos appear to be the same fabric cases we saw for the Pixel 2 in the “Carbon” color. These cases cost $40 and offer a nice feel that softens over time. Expensive for a case, but some really like the fabric texture.

The other tidbit is a little more interesting. Back in August, we spotted a new version of the Pixel Launcher that featured the Google Assistant icon in the Search bar. Google has tinkered with the Search bar a lot over the years. For a while, it had a mic icon for voice search. Currently, the Pixel Launcher Search bar just has a “G” icon on the left. The render shows a shortcut to Google Assistant on the right side.

Other than that, these renders further confirm a number of the technically still “rumored” specs. We can see dual cameras on the front, one camera on the back, a notch on the Pixel 3 XL, and the obvious size difference. The Pixel 3 XL is expected to have a 6.2-inch display, while the Pixel 3 has a 5.4-inch display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 should be inside and wireless charging will be included this year as well. Everything will finally be official next month.
