Getting the newly released EMUI 8 — based on Android 8.0 Oreo — installed on the Huawei Honor 9 right now can be a bit tricky. But thanks to a thorough post from XDA Recognized Developer OldDroid, you don’t have to stumble through it alone. The guide walks you through the process of getting TWRP on the phone’s Nougat-based firmware, executing a few Android Debug Bridge (ADB) shell commands, initiating the update to Oreo, installing SuperSU, renaming a few system files, and optionally performing a factory reset and unrooting your device. There’s even a section for folks who want to roll back to factory firmware (L09C432B100).
