Google Patches Snapdragon Vulnerability that Allows Root Access

Last year, there were some vulnerabilities with MediaTek’s SoCs that allowed root access to be obtained on affected devices. A similar issue has happened this year as two different vulnerabilities were discovered within Qualcomm’s chips. The CVE-2016-0805 vulnerability was patched in Android’s February security update and CVE-2016-0819 was patched in March’s. Sadly though, not all Android devices have been getting these monthly security updates.
