Apple Watch Series 7: Pricing & Availability

The Apple Watch Series 7 will go on sale later this fall. It will be available at a starting price of $399. Apple hasn’t shared the complete pricing details at the moment. We’ll add it to this post as soon as it goes live.

Apple Watch Series 7: Colors

Apple is offering the Watch Series 7 in three materials — aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium. The aluminum model will be available in five colorways — Midnight, Starlight, Green, Blue, and Product Red. The stainless steel variant will be available in three colorways — Silver, Graphite, and Gold. Apple will offer the titanium variant in two colorways — Black and Silver. You can pair all these options with a wide variety of first-party straps (more on that later).

Apple Watch Series 7: Design, Size & Display

Apple hasn’t made any significant changes to the Apple Watch’s design since 2015. Although it updated the display on the Apple Watch Series 4, the company has stuck with the same design on subsequent models. While leaked renders of the Apple Watch Series 7 suggested that Apple will opt for a brand new design this year, Apple is taking the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach with the new models.

Although the Apple Watch Series 7 models feature bigger displays than Series 6, they feature the same rounded design, albeit with “softer, more rounded corners”. The displays on the new models feature 40% slimmer bezels that measure only 1.7mm. This has allowed Apple to offer 20% more screen area than the Series 6 without altering the dimensions significantly. The Always-on Retina displays on the Watch Series 7 are 70 percent brighter than the previous model.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is also more durable than previous models, featuring a crack-resistant display, IP6X dust resistance, and WR50 water resistance.

The Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in two sizes — 41mm and 45mm. Apple hasn’t shared all the specifics for its latest smartwatches so far. We’ll update this post with more info as soon as it’s released.

Apple Watch Series 7: Battery & Charging

Apple has also made some significant improvements to battery life and charging on the Apple Watch Series 7. The company claims that the new smartwatches offer 18-hour all-day battery life, along with 33% faster charging than the previous model. The new smartwatches use an updated charging architecture and a Magnetic Fast Charger USB-C cable for improved charging performance, letting you charge the watches from 0-80% in about 45 minutes.

Apple Watch Series 7: Health Features & Sensors

The Apple Watch Series 7 offers the same suite of sensors as the Series 6. These include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a heart rate sensor, a barometer, an always-on altimeter, a compass, an SpO2 sensor, and a VO2 max sensor. These sensors a host of health and fitness tracking features, including blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, fall detection, workout tracking, and more.

Apple Watch Series 7: Software & Compatibility

The new Apple Watch Series 7 runs the latest version of watchOS out of the box — watchOS 8. Along with the health and fitness features mentioned above, watchOS 8 has bigger UI elements and several new customization options, including two new watch faces — Contour and Modular Duo — designed specifically for Watch Series 7. Apple has also included a new QWERTY keyboard for the watch.
