Unofficial TWRP now available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy Tab S6 (Snapdragon)

For those of you rocking a Snapdragon variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ or the Galaxy Tab S6, you will be happy to know that working TWRP builds are now out for your devices. These unofficial TWRP builds come courtesy of XDA‌ Recognized Developer Mentalmuso. The builds have been tested to successfully boot on the N750 and N700 variants of the Galaxy Note 10+ and the T860/5 variant of the Galaxy Tab S6. You will need a device with an unlockable bootloader in order to flash this recovery — US carrier devices are consequently out of luck since they can’t be unlocked.

The recovery doesn’t support encryption at the moment but the developer notes that it will be implemented in a future update. If you have an unlocked model and are interested in trying out TWRP, keep in mind that installing a custom recovery like TWRP will permanently trip Knox without any way to reset the same or reverse the situation. That means you will permanently lose access to Samsung Pay and security features such as Secure Folder which relies on Knox security. If that’s something that doesn’t bother you, head over to the main thread by clicking on the link below for your respective device to grab the required files and follow along with the step-by-step instructions for flashing and booting TWRP on your device.

At the time being, there doesn’t appear to be any working custom‌‌ ROMs available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ or Galaxy Tab S6. But now that TWRP is out, we can definitely expect some early ports of Android 10-based ROMs in the coming weeks. With a custom recovery, users will now easily be able take full nandroid backups, as well as flash custom ROMs and kernels with ease.
