Motorola is on a roll this year with its new One series of affordable devices. Following the recent launch of the Motorola One Action, which featured a GoPro-esque action cam, the company is reportedly gearing up for the next smartphone in the series. The upcoming device, called the Motorola One Macro, was recently been spotted in a listing on Saudi etailer Extra‘s website, revealing the design and camera setup.
While the listing has since been taken down, GSMArena managed to secure a screenshot that reveals the device features a quad-camera setup, a notched display with a tall aspect ratio, and a fingerprint sensor mounted centrally on the back. From the looks of it, the device also seems to have a thick chin, with a large slit in the notch to house the earpiece. Furthermore, the upcoming phone was listed on the website for SAR 899 (~$240), which falls squarely in line with the price of other devices in the series.
Previous leaks suggest that the Motorola One Macro will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor and include an HD display. The device also made an appearance on Geekbench early last month, which further revealed that it will pack in 2GB of RAM and run Android Pie out of the box. As of now, there’s no word on the exact camera specifications, but the Motorola One Macro is rumored to pack in a 13MP primary sensor, a 2MP sensor for depth perception, and a 2MP macro lens which, as the name suggests, could be its headlining feature.
The Motorola One Macro with the model name XT2016-1 was also certified by Thailand’s NBTC early last month and just last week a device with the same model name, alongside the One Macro moniker, passed through Taiwan’s NCC. While there’s no word from Motorola regarding the device yet, these recent certifications along with the leaked listing indicate an imminent launch in the coming weeks.
