Call of Duty: Mobile now available for download on Android

The Battle Royale genre for shooting games has massively exploded in popularity over the past few years, riding mainly on the success of Fortnite and PUBG. Both these titles have naturally made their way onto smartphones (and Android) in the form of Fortnite Mobile and PUBG Mobile. After a successful Beta run, Activision’s Call of Duty is now attempting to break into the mobile scene with Call of Duty: Mobile, with the game now finally being available for download on Android for users across the globe.

Call of Duty Mobile

Activision has teamed up with Tencent Games to release Call of Duty: Mobile, it’s newest first-person shooter for the Android platform. The game combines the familiarity of the Call of Duty universe and brings it over to Android in a game that would certainly grab the attention of fans of the FPS genre. The game features modes such as Free-For-All, Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination, along with Battle Royale. As noted in our previous coverage, the game relies on the Call of Duty brand goodwill with several borrowed elements ranging from characters and weapons to even maps such as Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked, Crossfire, Standoff, Crash, and Killhouse. This familiarity will help ease players into the game while attracting new players looking to play something other than PUBG Mobile.

With the global release of the game, players no longer need to resort to using VPNs and other tricks to play the game. You can simply download the game from the Play Store, or the Apple App Store if you are using an iOS device. Do note that the game requires good hardware to run well and provide an enjoyable experience, with minimum requirements pointing towards phones with at least 2GB RAM and Android 5.1. However, the better your phone is in terms of hardware prowess, the smoother you can expect gameplay to be. There are in-app purchases, but as it is with most current generation FPS titles, these are mainly on the cosmetics side, so you can still play the game for free.
