Xiaomi’s Redmi Note line has been regarded as one of the company’s overall most successful and best-selling, bringing powerful mid-range performance and hardware for the price of your average budget phone. The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro released earlier this year have proved to be outstanding, truly capable devices, and Xiaomi recently announced their successors and the latest entries in this line, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is now becoming more global after its initial announcement and launch in China, and it’s now set to come to the European market. Xiaomi has also announced the device in Spain. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is, probably, the most interesting device out of the bunch, doing a few things differently from previous devices in the Redmi Note line. Instead of using a Snapdragon processor like most devices that have preceded it, it goes instead for a gaming-focused MediaTek Helio G90T processor in a risky, but seemingly effective, move. The phone also features a 64MP quad-rear camera, taking things up a notch from its predecessor’s 48MP sensor.
It also features a 6.5-inch display as well as a chunky 4,500 mAh battery, and it runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top, with an update to MIUI 11 and Android 10 coming soon. The device will be available for sale in Spain starting on Thursday, September 26th, at a price of €249 for the 6GB + 64GB version and €269 for the 6GB + 128GB. Additionally, during the first 24 hours, the device will be available at a special price of €229 for the base model. Availability in other European markets outside of Spain has not been announced yet, but it should be a matter of weeks until it reaches most European countries.
