OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC charges a 4000mAh battery in just 30 minutes

A lot of people complain about battery technology not improving fast enough. Smartphones have been around for over a decade and we still have to charge them every night. But while phones may not be able to last multiple days yet, charging technology has been moving faster. OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC charging can get a 4,000mAh battery from 0-100 in just 30 minutes.

There has been a bit of a charging war going on recently. Xiaomi has demoed their crazy 100W “Super Charge Turbo” technology that can do 0-100 in only 17 minutes. Vivo has teased an even more insane 120W charging technology that can do 0-100 in just 13 minutes. The big difference between these technologies and OPPO’s is that OPPO appears to be ready to actually ship 65W SuperVOOC charging.

Brian Shen, VP of Global Marketing at OPPO, shared the video above on Twitter. It shows an unmarked phone with a 4,000mAh battery charging from 0-100% in 30 minutes. This feature is expected to debut on the OPPO Reno Ace, which will be announced on October 10th. The OPPO Reno Ace also will feature a 90Hz display.

To put 65W charging into perspective, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 recently launched with support for 45W charging. So 65W SuperVOOC charging may not be as insane as what Xiaomi and Vivo are teasing, but it’s still a lot more than what most phones can do.
