Motorola Camera update brings Google’s Playground AR Stickers to the Motorola One Vision, One Action, and One Zoom

Despite Motorola’s perennially erratic update support for its devices, the company does a pretty fine job at keeping its own Camera app constantly up-to-date, even if they’re not really a household name like Huawei or Google when it comes to stellar camera performance. Motorola cameras can do the job and the Motorola Camera allows it to do the job well. The app recently got a slew of new features such as Google Lens integration and live filters. Now, with its latest update, the app is getting support for Google’s Playground AR stickers on the latest Motorola One devices.

In case you don’t know, AR stickers allow you to place virtual characters and objects in the real world using the camera app. This feature was formerly exclusive to Pixel devices and has since rolled out to other devices, including some Motorola devices like those in the Moto Z range. Motorola’s One line of devices is equal parts strange and interesting, and one thing Motorola likes to do with these phones is experimenting with the cameras: the Motorola One Zoom has a quad 48MP rear camera setup, for one. So it makes sense for them to roll out these new camera features to these devices.

If you want to grab the update and you have one of these devices, then go right ahead and download the update from the Play Store right now. The update was rolled out last week with version number 7.2.57.11-denali. The changelog doesn’t say much more than “bug fixes and stability improvements”, but the app’s description has been updated to reflect that the Motorola One Vision, Motorola One Action, and Motorola One Zoom devices support AR stickers now.
