Leaked renders show the Huawei Mate 30 Pro with a total of 7 cameras

With IFA just around the corner, companies are all gearing up to release their next round of smartphone offerings just in time for the holiday season. While not tipped to launch at IFA, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro does appear to be launching on September 19th in Munich. Worryingly, it will be arriving without Google services, which many believe will leave the device dead on arrival outside of China. Other than that, information has been scarce –  until now. @OnLeaks, a prominent leaker in the mobile scene, has shared a 360ยบ overview of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, in partnership with Pricebaba. Along with that overview, there is a number of very high resolution renders as well.

Note: Due to a “tricky CAD” some details may be slightly off.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro Design

Huawei Mate 30 Pro

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro features a pretty interesting design, with the back camera setup not unlike the OnePlus 7T’s leaked design. There aren’t really any other circular back camera devices on the market, and the Huawei Mate 30 Pro features 7 cameras in total – 3 on the front, 4 on the back. It has minimal bezels, though they haven’t got for an entirely notchless experience like their competitors may have. The phone is a large one, measuring at 158.1 x 73.6 x 8.7mm, with the thickness going up to 9.7mm around the camera bump.

The phone has a singular power button on the side and no physical volume buttons. This lines up with a previous rumor which suggested that the company would instead have a touch-sensitive area that the user could slide their thumb on to adjust the volume. The“waterfall” display comes in at around 6.6-inches, though it could be a little bit larger or smaller than that. The bottom edge of the device houses the speaker, USB-C port, microphone, and SIM card tray. The top edge houses an IR Blaster and a second, noise-canceling microphone. These renders match an alleged leaked poster from about a week back.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro Specifications

While there’s not a whole lot of information on specs, we do know that it’s very likely that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will be powered by the Kirin 990 chipset that’s expected to be launched at IFA. It’s also expected to have a built-in 5G modem. RAM and storage configurations are still unknown at this time.

However, @OnLeaks has a lot to say about the quad cameras on the back. The primary 40-megapixel sensor is said to feature a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/1.6 and RYYB pixel layout. The secondary 40-megapixel camera is speculated to be a 120-degree ultra-wide lens, while the third could be an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x zoom. There’s no word on the triple selfie camera setup as of now.

Other reported specs include a massive 4,500 mAh battery, along with 25W wireless fast charging. A wireless fast charger from Huawei did pass through the FCC somewhat recently, and it does support a 25W output. Nothing else is known at this time.
