Algeo Graphing Calculator is a scientific calculator for more complex engineering and math problems

We’ve all been there. Staring down the barrel of a complex math problem and your once-powerful standard calculator now pales at the prospect of trying to figure this one out. Complex numbers, predefined constants, and variables are all way too much for it to handle. That’s where Algeo Graphing Calculator comes in.

Algeo was written by XDA Forums member vegesm, and fills the holes left by Android’s built-in calculator. The list of calculation types that it can handle is impressive:

  • Physical constants
  • Symbolic Differentiation.
  • Calculate Integrals (definite only)
  • Calculate Taylor-series
  • Solve Equations
  • Draw function
  • Sharing calculations
  • Function plotting and finding roots of functions
  • Combinatorial functions
  • Number theoretic functions (modulo, greatest common divisor)
  • Find min, max, intersections and roots on graphs
  • Themes (with in-app purchases)

The fact that themes are included shows that the app is not just some college student’s barebones project. It’s a fully developed app that looks nice and has customization options.

From the above images, you can see that Algeo actually bears similarities to the standard Android calculator. Switching over to it, then, should be an easy task.

Algeo is available on Google Play now, free of charge.
