Samsung’s 45W charger page hints at support for the unreleased Galaxy A91, teases 5G Galaxy A90

Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 10+, is one of the first devices with 45W charging support. This requires a 45W USB Type-C charger with USB Power Delivery 3.0 with Programmable Power Supply (PPS). Currently, it seems like Samsung’s charger is the only one on the market that’s compatible with the Galaxy Note 10+. On Samsung Hungary’s listing for the aforementioned 45W charger, there are mentions of 2 unreleased devices. Those are the Samsung Galaxy A91 and the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G.

The Galaxy A91 will be the only Samsung phone beside the Galaxy Note 10+ (and its 5G variant) to support 45W fast wired charging. The Galaxy A90 5G, on the other hand, is only going to support up to 25W fast charging. Through charging speed tests run on the Galaxy Note 10+, these chargers are both VERY fast. It’s good that Samsung is working on adding fast charging to more devices, as Samsung’s phones have lacked anything this fast in a long time.

Samsung Galaxy A90 and Galaxy A91 mentioned on 45W charger page

The Galaxy A91 and Galaxy A90 5G are rumored to come with 6.7-inch displays with in-display fingerprint scanners. The Galaxy A90 5G is rumored to have a teardrop notch display while the Galaxy A91 is rumored to have a centered Galaxy Note 10-style punch hole. Both devices are supposed to have triple camera systems with main shooters of 48MP, though the Galaxy A91 is rumored to also have a new “Tilt OIS” technology. Both devices are also rumored to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. With this chipset on board, these two devices will be Samsung’s first mid-range flagships. The Galaxy A90 5G will, of course, have 5G support, as China Unicom already confirmed.

Both of these devices sound pretty great and should be announced soon. They are rumored to launch in October. Samsung’s first affordable 5G flagship will be a huge deal for promoting 5G rollout. It’s good to know that Samsung is also working on more wide-spread fast charging in their devices, which is something their devices have needed for a while.

Thanks for the tip, Krisztian Viola!
