Dark Mode (or Dark Theme) is a bonafide movement in the Android ecosystem. Google is adding a system-wide dark mode to Android Q and they’ve been busy getting apps ready for it. 3rd-party app developers have also been adding dark modes to their designs. The latest version of the official Reddit app supports Android Q’s dark theme setting.
Reddit for Android version 3.33 added the option to have auto night mode follow Android Q’s dark theme setting. However you have the dark theme enabled in the Android Q system settings, the Reddit app will follow. This is exactly why a system-wide dark mode is so handy. You don’t have to adjust the setting on an app-by-app basis.
Version 3.33 of Reddit for Android includes a few other changes as well. Subreddits with an underscore in their name (i.e. a lot of them) can be added to Custom Feeds. This update is being gradually rolled out, currently to just 3% of Android users. It should reach all users by the end of the week.
