The ASUS Zenfone 6 is one of the beefy flagship phones of 2019. It offers a 6.4-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 855 system-on-chip, a minimum of 6GB of RAM, massive 5,000 mAh battery, and a headphone jack. It even comes with a microSD card. As you can see, this phone is a pretty solid choice for anyone who’s looking for a multimedia device. What’s even cooler is that ASUS doesn’t complicate unlocking the bootloader on the device. Kernel source codes have been out almost since the release of the phone. Whether you like ASUS or not, they deserve credit for this flagship.
ASUS has released a new OTA update for the ZenFone 6. The build number of the firmware is 16.1220.1906.167, and it includes numerous changes. Most of them are camera-oriented, but we definitely see changes in other regions of the system, too. Probably the most important change is improvements in the stability of camera rotation. There are also a few tweaks like Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) optimizations and noise reducing that improve the overall camera quality. General system optimizations and bug fixes that enhance the system experience are also included. You can see the full changelog below.
If you haven’t received the OTA on your ZenFone 6, you can manually check for updates by going to Settings > System > System updates. You can also follow these instructions to flash the firmware without waiting for OTA.
