Carriers in the US have been racing to launch their 5G networks and devices. So far, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon have flipped the switch on their networks. These three carriers are also already carrying the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. Today, T-Mobile finally joins the party.
The T-Mobile Galaxy S10 5G goes on sale today (June 28th). To coincide with the launch, T-Mobile is launching 5G coverage in 6 cities: Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York City. T-Mobile’s 5G network uses the same mmWave technology that AT&T and Verizon are using. This means there are pretty strict limitations about where exactly you can get the 5G speeds (coverage maps).
Getting back to the phone, T-Mobile’s Galaxy S10 5G costs $1,299 or $31.25 per month for 24 months on T-Mobile’s no-interest equipment installment plan. One thing to be aware of before dropping $1K on this phone is it won’t be forward-compatible with T-Mobile’s upcoming low and mid-band frequency 5G service. T-Mobile confirmed this to The Verge, which means this might not be a great long-term 5G device.
