Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy A30/A40/A50/A60/A70/A80 now support Google ARCore

Google surprised a lot of people with the augmented reality achievements the company was able to make when it announced ARCore. It was a much better way to tackle the space than its previous attempts with Project Tango and was open to more devices. However, the company hasn’t treated it like some of its other services and added support to all devices running a certain version of Android. Instead, they have been manually adding support for various devices and the Galaxy Tab S5e, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A40, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A60, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A80 from Samsung are the latest to receive support.

Just this month we reported on support for ARCore coming to the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. We also reported that devices including the ASUS ZenFone 6, Sony Xperia Z1, and Xiaomi Mi 9 also support Google’s ARCore service. Samsung’s Galaxy A series has received a lot of attention recently in the press with talks of how well the devices are performing in some increasingly competitive markets. They don’t offer the latest technology but have become devices that many people have been happy to rely on.

So, all of the Galaxy A devices listed above will now support Google’s ARCore services. Not only that but one of Samsung’s new tablets, the Galaxy Tab S5e, is also receiving support for the augmented reality features. Now that these Samsung smartphones and tablet support the APIs included in ARCore, customers will be able to use more applications and games that can sense its environment, understand the world, and interact with the information.

Anyone who owns these Samsung devices, or any device that supports Google’s ARCore service, go ahead and install the ARCore application and have some fun. With that done, you can even install this port of Google Playground (AR Stickers) that is only officially available on select devices.
