Just a few days ago, the first Android Pie-based LineageOS 16 builds were released for the Essential Phone, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, and Xiaomi Mi 6. Now, the OnePlus 6 has been added to the roster, and its first build is already available for download.
Even though it has a notch, the OnePlus 6 has a lot of fans as it’s OnePlus’ last smartphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack. OnePlus has already released an official Android Pie update as well as an Android Q beta for the device, but those of you who want a bit more customization than what OxygenOS offers may be on the lookout for an alternative OS. There’s a ton of custom ROM and kernel development on our forums for the device, but if you want something simple and stable you may be interested in LineageOS.
You can download the first build from the link below. As always, you’ll need to have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. The installation instructions are pretty straightforward since OnePlus phones are easy to unlock, but OnePlus’ latest devices have A/B partitions so the TWRP installation may be a bit different from what you may be used to.
