The biggest story in the tech world this week is President Trump’s executive order to restrict U.S. companies from supplying products to Huawei. One result of this is Google revoking Huawei’s Android license. The U.S. Commerce Department has already softened the restrictions, but it’s clear Huawei should be concerned about their future with Android. The company has been working on a backup OS and now we know a little more about it.
According to a report by Chinese publication Caijing, Chengdong Yu, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, has revealed details about Huawei’s OS. It will apparently be available later this Fall on phones, computers, tablets, TVs, cars, and wearables. It will be compatible with all Android apps, Apps can also be recompiled to improve performance.
We will be adding more details to this story.
