With OEMs removing the 3.5mm headphone port on smartphones these days, it has given companies a reason to invest in wireless audio accessories. Apple has the AirPods, OnePlus has the Bullets Wireless, and Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds earlier this year with the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and the Galaxy S10e. Initial reviews have been favorable so far with many saying they offer a cheaper product than Apple with little to no compromises. Things are getting better with this product now that Samsung has begun rolling out a software update.
The major new addition in this update is the added support of Bixby controls. Using the Galaxy Buds, you can now ask Bixby to enable or disable Ambient sound, change to a different equalizer setting, and more. However, those interested in this feature should know that as of right now it only works with US English and Korean languages. Other highly awaited changes included in this new update is the touchpad improvements. There have been some complaints about using double and triple tap gestures but those should be fixed now.
Speaking of the touchpad of the Samsung Galaxy Buds, the company has also added the ability to initiate Ambient Sound with a long press on the earbud. There are some other complaints as well that involved duplicated phone call end sound when you get off the phone. This was happening on Android Pie and above but should be fixed up with this latest update. In order to get his update, you need to open up the Galaxy Wearable app while you have the Galaxy Buds connected.
