Retro Revolution will be the second game from POCO’s Game Development Academy

Xiaomi’s POCO sub-brand is making waves in the market with the launch of its first phone, the Poco F1. With flagship specifications at affordable prices, the Poco F1 comes very close to providing what the OnePlus One did back in the day. In addition to the Poco F1, Poco also has other projects like the Poco Game Development Academy that promotes skill development of the community.

Under the Poco Game Development Academy, Poco sought to recruit Android game developers and give them tools, resources and a marketing platform to build their skills and develop Android games. Poco would also be contributing its in-house talent to this team to develop games together, and will also be publishing the game and marketing it through its brand. They also promised credits to the developers, certificate of recognition for the work done, paid game development courses from sites likes Coursera and even an opportunity to interview for a job role within the Poco team.

The first game under the initiative was Fantasy Glider, a simple one-finger tap game where you try to keep your plane afloat and collect as many coins as you can. Now, Poco is gearing up to launch the second game under the #POCOGDA label.

The second game would be called Retro Revolution. Details about the game are not yet live, but we certainly commend Poco for their initiative, which gave an opportunity to select individuals from the community to work with professional developers within the company and hone their skills. We hope the program is expanded to include more individuals in the future.
