OnePlus’ Open Ears forums is a platform for OnePlus to directly engage with its users and the community and seek their feedback. Previous editions of the Open Ears forums were held in different parts of the world and focused on various topics like Camera, Customer Service and OxygenOS. OnePlus has now announced the next edition of Open Ears with a focus on the “Developer Community”.
This Open Ears event will be held in Goa, India on May 4, 2019. This edition of the event will focus on how OnePlus can support developers in building great software, as well as to see what new programs and initiatives can be explored with the community. OnePlus will be taking care of travel and accommodation for the attendees (Indian residents), so you can check your availability and apply accordingly. The application process is open globally if the applicants can cover their costs.
You can apply for this Open Ears Forum directly on OnePlus India’s website. The application process requires your basic details, as well as answers to questions around customizing OnePlus devices and custom ROMs. OnePlus India will be selecting people on the basis of these answers. There’s also a “hidden mystery puzzle” that will be activated on April 4, 2019 on the application page, which will give you better chances of being selected if you solve it.
While not perfect, OnePlus devices have been quite developer-friendly overall, and are much better than some of the competitors. We’re curious to see the key takeaways from the event. We’ll keep you updated when we have more information.
