Like clockwork, Google has kicked off the new month with a fresh Android security update. Every month, we get a new Android security bulletin for Google Pixel devices and Android as a whole. Whether your device gets the latest patch is up to the OEM, but that’s a different topic. Essential is one OEM that does a great job of this.
Unlike last month, there are a few functional patches for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. One functional patch that should make Pixel owners happy is startup and responsiveness improvements for the camera. This is something that has been brought up in recent months by Pixel owners, so we’re glad to see some attention brought to it. Here’s the full list of functional patches:
Category | Improvements | Devices |
---|---|---|
Camera | Improves Startup and responsiveness of Camera app | Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL |
Performance | Improves recovery in the instance of OTA update failure | Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL |
Performance | Improves storage performance on Pixel 3 devices | Pixel 3, Pixel3 XL |
