The Razer Phone is considered by many the phone that pioneered the concept of gaming phones as we know them today. The Razer Phone 2 is a clear improvement over it. But one of the phone’s coolest highlights, aside from its 120Hz display and mammoth speakers, is how open Razer is in regards to custom development. A few weeks back, Razer publicly released official Android Pie factory images for the device, as well as the kernel source code for developers to check it out and start cooking up custom recoveries, kernels, and ROMs.
Now, we’re getting a look at the first custom kernels released for this device, including XDA Recognized Developer arter97‘s world-famous arter97 kernel as well as thecubed’s work-in-progress kernel. While they first had a series of issues, particularly audio-related, these have been ironed out since then. If you’re interested in tweaking and modding your phone, then these might be worth a look. Check them out now!
