ZTE unveils the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G flagship, ZTE Blade V10 and ZTE Blade V10 Vita

MWC 2019 is the biggest smartphone event of the year, where smartphone companies from all over the world have congregated to announce their latest technologies. ZTE has taken to the stage to add its own name in the 5G flagship lineup with the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G; and also took the opportunity to announce the ZTE Blade V10.

ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G

ZTE’s press release for the Axon 10 Pro 5G skimps out on mentioning a lot of the specifications for the device. What we do know is that the newest Axon device is the first 5G-enabled flagship device from ZTE. The phone comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, along with the SDX50 5G modem, allowing it to reach peak download speeds of up to 2Gbps.

Other features of the device include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a triple rear camera setup (standard, wide angle and telephoto) with AI capabilities, and a 20MP front camera housed within a water drop notch.

The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G will be available in the first half of 2019 in Europe and China. ZTE has not disclosed pricing for the device.

The ZTE Blade V10 is not a flagship, but is ZTE’s latest offering in the mid-range Blade series. ZTE has chosen to not even mention the name of the processor in its press release, which is strange, but seeing how this is not a flagship, you can safely rule out the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 from the list of possible SoC’s.

The stand out feature on the Blade V10 is the 32MP front facing camera. We have seen a 32MP camera in the Vivo V15 Pro, but that phone ensured it stood out from the crowd by using a popup slider mechanism; the Blade V10 does no such trickery. ZTE restricts itself to software tricks, employing generous use of AI for imaging. The front camera employs AI Smart Selfie technology, while the 16MP AI dual camera on the back applies AI Scene Recognition to identify 300+ scenes in preview mode and adjust parameters for the best shot.

The ZTE Blade V10 will be available in China and Europe in March 2019, and in Latin America in April 2019. Again, ZTE has not revealed pricing information for the device, but the phone is expected to cost around $300.

ZTE Blade V10 Vita

ZTE also made a quiet mention of the ZTE Blade V10 Vita in its announcement, but did not deem the device to be worthy of anything beyond a single sentence mention.

However, from our own previous report, we do know a few key specifications about the device. The device will come with a Spreadtrum 9863A SoC, which is an octa-core SoC consisting of 8x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.6GHz. The GPU on the device is the Imagination Tech PowerVR GE8322, clocked at 550MHz. The phone will sport a display resolution of 720 x 1520. Despite the budget specifications, the phone will launch with Android Pie.
