MWC 2019 announcements are underway, with all major OEMs announcing their upcoming technologies for the coming year. HMD Global took to the stage in Barcelona to announce the Nokia 9 as the star attraction of its lineup. But that’s not all that they are adding to their portfolio. Meet the Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 — Nokia’s newest budget devices.

In a world of 12GB RAM and 1TB storage flagships, the Nokia 1 Plus stands out by being the exact opposite. The Nokia 1 Plus is the phone that people buy to transition from a feature phone to a smartphone, or for those looking to get an inexpensive spare phone.
The Nokia 1 Plus comes with Android Pie – Go Edition – Google’s special version of Android, optimized for low specification devices. This allows apps to be smaller by as much as 50% and allow up to 60% data consumption savings. The phone also comes with full Google Assistant support. The phone sports a polycarbonate build with interchangeable back panels.

The Nokia 3.2 is another budget offering from HMD Global. The device features a glossy polycarbonate unibody design. The phone comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button, which allows you to single click to open Assistant, double click to open Visual Snapshot feature in Assistant, and press and hold to use Google Assistant Walkie Talkie. HMD Global has also integrated a notification light within the power button.
HMD Global is also guaranteeing that the Nokia 3.2 will receive updates to Android Q as well as to Android R, as well as 3 years of security update. No timeline commitment has been made, but since the phone launches with Android Pie, users should have nothing to complain about for quite some time.
