Huawei P30 renders appear with triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner, and gradient finish

We’re just a few months away from the Huawei P20‘s one-year anniversary, which means news for its successor should start ramping up. Up until today, there hasn’t been much information about the Huawei P30. However, we now have our first look at renders of the device and it features some similarities as well as big differences.

Like the P20, the Huawei P30 has an attractive gradient color scheme. The back of the device also appears to have an extremely glossy, mirror-like finish. Staying on the back, the camera orientation is the same as the P20, but now there are 3 cameras instead of 2. The rear cameras are said to be 40MP, 20MP, and 5MP, along with a 24MP front camera.

Speaking of the front, the P30 features a smaller “waterdrop” notch. The bottom chin has been dramatically reduced. There’s no longer a fingerprint scanner or Huawei logo taking up space on the front. Since there is no fingerprint scanner visible, it’s possible Huawei has opted to go with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The OLED display is 6-inches with 3240×1080 resolution. Internally, the P30 is said to be powered by the Kirin 980 SoC, 6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.

That’s all we know so far about the Huawei P30, but with Huawei attending MWC in February, there’s a very good chance we’ll see the device then. We will most likely see “Pro” and “Lite” models of the P30 as well, just like the Huawei P20.
