MIUI 10 has rolled out to many Xiaomi devices in the past few months, and the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro got the Android Oreo-based update back in November. While the device will soon be succeeded by the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 7 series, the company is still working hard on updating its current lineup. Xiaomi recently confirmed that the Android Pie-based MIUI 10 software update would roll out to the Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi 6X, and Redmi S2, and we now have the closed beta update that recently went live in China. We have the recovery ROM download link you can use install and flash the beta ROM on your Redmi 6 Pro yourself.
If you want to download and install the closed Android Pie beta update, you can start the download by clicking on the link below (courtesy of XDA Recognized Developer yshalsager) and flash it in TWRP, which requires an unlocked bootloader. You probably can’t sideload it in MIUI’s system updater as only authorized Mi accounts should be able to sideload it through there as it’s a closed beta build. Be careful though, as Xiaomi’s anti-rollback protection may prevent you from going back to an older version if you don’t like it.

The Chinese versions of MIUI lack Google Play services out-of-the-box (though they’re easy to sideload) and only offer English and Mandarin. It’s only recommended for those who want to be on the absolute bleeding edge, especially as a closed beta that upgrades your phone to a new Android version may be buggy. We recommend making a backup of your device before installing it. If the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is your only smartphone, we recommend waiting for a stable build to surface.
