The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2 are two interesting smartphones that both launched in October within a week of each other. Both devices have a nearly bezel-less front thanks to their slider mechanisms. While the Honor Magic 2 won’t be released outside of China, the Mi Mix 3 is slowly making its way overseas. The global version of the Mi Mix 3 recently launched in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and will be available in the United Kingdom sometime in Q1 2019. For those of you who imported the device from China soon after it launched, you may have waited for the MIUI 10 Global ROM to be made available so you can finally ditch the MIUI 10 China ROM. Thanks to XDA Recognized Developer yshalsager, we now have the download link to the Mi Mix 3’s MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM.
The file size for the full recovery ROM is 1.7GB. The same software build is running on our review unit. The build comes with Google Play apps and services pre-installed, more languages other than just English and Mandarin, the ability to launch the Google Assistant via the AI button, and other tweaks. You can download the recovery ROM from the link below to flash via TWRP, but take note that you’ll have to unlock the bootloader of your device to install it. After you install it, we highly recommend you don’t relock the bootloader because bad things might happen.

For those of you who aren’t willing to flash the global software, it’s still possible to disable the AI app and launch Google Assistant on the MIUI 10 China ROM, but it requires either root access to modify the key layout files or an ADB command to disable the AI app and then remapping it with Tasker (see this thread on our forums for more details.)
